In a historical development that is set to transform Funeral Services Industry and set the tone for services delivery, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Mr. George T Guvamatanga, represented by Mrs. J Rusike, Director of Financial Sector Policy, officially opened Moonlight’s Chiredzi Branch, on Friday 29 October 2021. The parlour comprises eight offices and a 22 bodied mortuary.

In her address, Mrs. Rusike commended Moonlight for investing in the state-of-the-art parlour, which she termed “an achievement which is extraordinary in these difficult times of the COVID -19 pandemic. This in itself is a no mean feat considering that other companies are closing down, while others are downsizing.” The branch will provide funeral services and funeral assurance services to the residents of Chiredzi and the surrounding areas dovetailing the national policies to enhanced financial inclusion, where we urge that no – one should be left behind.’

Moonlight Group Chief Executive Officer Dr. Chomi Makina applauded the Lowveld community for its long-standing relationship and unwavering support. Moonlight also launched a new fleet of hearses (GWM P9 model) to ensure seamless service delivery on the same day. It is indeed a long journey for the company, from the humble beginnings in 1995 to the current era where the company boasts of over 45 branches in Zimbabwe, 4 in Botswana and 4 in South Africa.
